As a unique and vital part of the Masonic fraternal family, Daughters of the Nile is an all-women group that exists to financially and physically support the 22 Shriners Hospitals for Children® throughout the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Each year, the Daughters of the Nile give generously of their time to the hospitals by providing more than 180,000 volunteer hours at the Shriners Hospitals for Children®.
In addition, Nile members sew clothing and quilts and provide toys, books, games, and other educational and recreational items for the children and their families, with a value in excess of $1 million annually. Additionally, members of Daughters of the Nile participate in many social events and activities that provide an extraordinary foundation for a network of friendships, of which the benefits are endless.
The Supreme Temple, Daughters of the Nile Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit public corporation that maintains a permanent endowment fund to benefit Shriners Hospitals for Children®. All monetary donations promote, support, and maintain the philanthropic endeavors that enhance the medical care and treatment of the patients in the Shriners Hospitals for Children®. A Canadian Trust provides the same support to the Canadian Shriners Hospital.
Due to the members' generosity, their families, and friends, Daughters of the Nile has achieved Gold Plaques in all of the twenty-two Shriners Hospitals for Children®. Through our members' work and the Foundation and Trust, the Daughters of the Nile contribute more than $2 million annually. Since 1924, we have contributed over $66 million, second only to the Shriners themselves.
Membership is open to a woman of good character eighteen years of age or older and is related by birth or marriage to a Shriner, Master Mason, or Daughter of the Nile, or is a Majority Member in Good Standing of a Masonic-related organization for girls; or who was a patient, with or without Shrine or Masonic relationship, at a Shriners Hospital for Children®.
Naphis Temple No. 66 meets at the Scottish Rite Temple (332 Centennial Mall South) in Lincoln, Nebraska on the fourth Monday of each month at 7:00 pm. We do not meet during the months of December, July, and August.
Our Northeast Nile Club is an active group comprised of Nile members from the northeast area of Nebraska, as well as Lincoln. Through a variety of projects, these ladies not only support Naphis Temple, but also the Twin Cities Shriners Hospital for Children® with their gifts of blankets, books, toys, and other items. The Northeast Nile Club meets on the second Saturday of each month. They do not meet in December, January, or February.
Our Tanis/Meridian Nile Club does not currently hold meetings, however, they continue to support the work of the Twin Cities Shriners Hospital for Children® by raising funds at their annual Card Playing Marathon. These Nile members reside in the central area of Nebraska.

If it wasn't for my ex-husband, I would have never known about Daughters of the Nile! I love being able to help the children of Shriners Hospitals for Children®.
I joined Daughters of the Nile to accompany my mom, Nancy Beach, who was becoming the queen of Naahma Temple in Hastings. I had NO IDEA what an amazing organization this was! I've never met such a lovely group of women who are sincere and genuine in their friendship. Priceless!
I joined the Daughters of the Nile to help the children in need. To help the toddler who was severely burned by a pan of boiling water be able to walk and play pain-free. I joined to make a difference in the life of a kiddo. And I do. Join me...it is so amazing!

My mom encouraged me to join when I was old enough, but I didn't get really involved until years later. It's been a great way to spend time traveling with my mother, learning from some awesome and inspiring women, and having fun (and getting to party!) to raise funds and awareness for Shriners Hospitals for Children®. I'm honored to be a member of Naphis Temple No. 66, one of the most involved temples in all of Daughters of the Nile. Oh! And I live in Omaha, so if you'd like to join and need a ride to Lincoln, let me know!

For over 30 years, I've enjoyed a wonderful relationship with Daughters of the Nile....most of those years have also intertwined with my love of music. I have had so many opportunities to share my love of the piano with not only the members of Naphis Temple but with the Supreme (International) Temple, as well. All of these experiences have given my life a richness of purpose and the realization that "The purpose of life is not to be happy. It is to be useful, to be honorable, to be compassionate, to have it make some difference that you have lived and lived well" (Ralph Waldo Emerson). I cannot imagine what my life would have been like without having this incredible organization in my life!
